An Ohio County elementary school will stay open despite issues with sewage leaking into the school.
Thursday night, School Board officials voted 3 to 2 to keep Horse Branch Elementary open, despite a plea from the Superintendent to start moving students out of the school. The septic system at the school is failing.
To curtail the problem ,the School Board brought in special septic tanks to stop the leaks. The school was also cited for violating environmental laws.
