Opponents of a constitutional amendment to ban same sex marriage in Indiana say the proposal is dead.
The house rules committee voted on the amendment Tuesday.
The vote was 5-5 -- which means it did not pass.
All five "no" votes came from democrats -- that includes Russ Stillwell of Boonville.
Unless supporters find a way to resurrect the bill, the amendment would have to start from scratch.
Supporters vow to bring it up again during next years General Assembly.
