Thunderstorm Effects

A quick sweep of storms this afternoon knocked down power lines and trees in Evansville.
Downed lines fell on a house on Illinois Street--firefighters and Vectren officials were called to the scene--but no flames were found.
A tree at Fourth and Locust came crashing down--and blocked several lanes of traffic.
Motorists were able to get around until road crews could arrive to remove the tree.
The storm resulted in several residents being without power for a short time.
No major injuries were reported
