Updated: June 4, 2007
The family of late Reitz and USI basketball player Wes Attebury will be receiving some more help from the Panther and Eagle families. Two more fundraisers have been established to help Wes family. The first is a charity basketball game on Friday, June 8th at Reitz High. The game will feature several former area standouts including UEs Kyle Anslinger and Bradley Strickland, USIs Melvin Hall and former Castle Knight and Xavier Muskeeteer Dedrick Finn. Tip time is set for 6:30. The family welcomes donations. The second fundraiser is an autograph session and silent auction at the westside Buffalo Wild Wings on Wednesday, June 13th. That event runs from 11 until 5. It features autograph and photo opportunities with current USI Head Coach Rick Herdes and University of Tennessee Hoops Coach Bruce Pearl. The silent auction begins at 4pm. Wes lost his battle with skin cancer last month. He leaves behind his wife Melissa and his newborn son Ryder James. The Attebury family sends its thanks to the Evansville community for their continued support.
