The City of Evansville will soon be the home of professional basketball. Fox Seven learned Monday that a group of local businessmen, known as the Evansville Sports Group, has secured the rights to an expansion team. That team could be part of the World Basketball Association as early as Spring of 2007. The W.B.A is a developmental league with strong ties to the N.B.A. It`s made up of seventeen teams scattered throughout the Midwest and Southeast. Each team is made up of ten players. With tryouts held to promote signing local talent. The season runs from April through June. It features 25 games, including the playoffs and championship.
