Knight resigns as Mater Dei baseball coach

Mater Dei head baseball coach Darin Knight announced his resignation on Thursday. Knight is leaving the diamond to become the schools Dean of Students and Assistant Principal. Hell also continue his post as Defensive Coordinator for the MD football team. Knight led the Wildcats to the 3A state finals this past season, where they finished as runners-up. He took Mater Dei to Victory Field three other times, winning the state title in 1999. Knights 11 year varsity record was 197-111. Thats the most baseball victories in school history. Knight also won three semi-state championships, four regionals, five sectionals, two SIAC titles and three city crowns.
