Zeller down to final four college choices

Tyler Zeller could play division-one college basketball for just about any program in the country. After receiving tons of national interest in the form of letters, phone calls and text messages, the Washington Hatchets senior narrowed his list down to nine schools - Notre Dame, Purdue, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas and North Carolina. Friday at the high school, Zeller made even more cuts by choosing his final four. The seven-foot, 220 pound center will play for either Notre Dame, Indiana, Purdue or North Carolina. Zeller says there are no front-runners at this point. He likes something different about all of his picks. Zeller plans on making his final decision before Novembers signing period. Zeller is ranked as the 14th best player in the nation and the fourth best center by Rivals.com. He averaged over 18 points and nine rebounds per game for the Hatchets in his junior season. Zeller is the early favorite to win Indianas Mister Basketball award in 2008 and should also make the Indiana All-Star Team. Tylers older brother, Luke, was named Mister Basketball in 2005. Luke, who will be a junior at Notre Dame, led Washington to the Class 3A state championship that year. He hit the game-winning half-court buzzer beater that gave the Hatchets the dramatic victory over Plymouth.
