Meth Grants

A component of the department of justice will be awarding grants to the city of Evansville and Daviess and Gibson counties to fight methamphetamine.
The funds are being provided through the community oriented policing services or C.O.P.S.
Theyre goal is to combat the manufacture, use and distribution of meth, as well as foster collaboration between agencies to prevent and treat meth abuse.
Evansville-$339,030
Gibson County $60,466
Daviess County $450,000.
Of the top 10 counties with the most meth labs seized in 2006, the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute says five were in southwest Indianas 8th congressional district.
