The Owensboro Red Devils saw their season come to an end on Friday night with a 35-13 loss to Bowling Green in the Kentucky Class 5A football semi-finals at Rash Stadium. The Devils raced to an early 13-0 lead, before the Purples scored 35 unanswered points to advance to the state championship game. Bowling Green will meet Fort Thomas Highlands in the 5A state title game next Friday night at Louisvilles Papa Johns Cardinal Stadium. It was a match-up of Owensboros top-ranked defense against Bowling Greens top-rated offense. Unfortunately for the Devils, offense prevailed. Owensboro finishes a great season at 12-2.
