Firefighter Indecent Exposure

By: Sarah Lovett
Updated: December 22, 2008
Two Henderson firefighters are back to work after an incident involving indecent exposure at an elementary school. Earlier this month the Board of Commissioners decided to penalize the officers but not dismiss them. The men were part of a fire prevention team that went to schools giving presentations. During one of these visits the two men apparently exposed themselves to one another behind a stage curtain. No students or faculty saw the men expose themselves -- only other firefighters-- but word got back to the chief. Initially, the board were going to fire the men but after ten hours of deliberating and hearing twenty testimonies, the men were demoted and suspended without pay. Mayor Tom Davis says he takes this behavior very seriously but he understand why some would call it locker room behavior. Originally, five men were under investigation. The other three were not found guilty.
