Authorities confirm multiple houses on fire on the 700 block of Strawberry Hill Road, that's in the McCutchanville area. McCutchanville firefighters confirm one person has died as a result of the fires.

The fires broke out around 6:30 Tuesday evening and authorities responded in a matter of minutes. But by the time they arrived, multiple homes were already fully involved.

Three houses appear to be considered a total loss. Crews are waiting for gas to be shut off to a fourth home before putting out hotspots there.

Multiple agencies, including German Township, Ohio Township, Indiana State Police, Evansville Police and the Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office, are assisting in these fires.

The Red Cross has been dispatched to assist firefighters on the scene.

Eyewitness News has a crew on the scene, we'll bring you more tonight at 9pm and 10pm and here on our website.
