Tropical plants, trees, shrubs, and ornamental grasses are all on sale this weekend at Mesker Park Zoo and Botanical Gardens. It's all part of the 11th annual Bloomin' Zoo Garden Festival.
The zoo's Botanical Department has been growing and preparing these unique plants for the festival and will be available to be purchased by the public. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Association of Zoological Horticulture Plant Conservation Fund.
"Our patrons are very loyal and come back year after year," said Mesker Park Employee Paul Bouseman. "We set a new record every year. We expect to do that again this year. We have a bigger selection than ever. We just get wonderful feedback from our visitors."
The festival will run both Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
