Evansville Police need your help identifying a man they say was involved in an early morning attack at a METS bus stop.

It happened just after midnight at the downtown transfer station at 6th and Vine.

The victim, identified as Richard Brown, was sleeping on a bench at the bus stop when the incident happened.  Brown told officers he was awakened by the suspect attacking and stabbing him around his neck and upper chest.

The suspect eventually fled on foot, and Brown managed to walk around the station and onto Vine Street.  That's where a passerby spotted him and called for help.  Brown was then taken to Deaconess Hospital for treatment.

If you have any information about this case, you are asked to call Evansville Police.
