IPFW Discussing to Become Independent

By: Chris Veech
Updated: August 20, 2012
An Indiana satellite college could be getting ready to strike out on it's own. Leaders at Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne or IPFW are expected to discuss becoming an independent university. Some of the ideas to go along with going independent would be changing the name of the school to Fort Wayne University or Fort Wayne State University. Schools officials say they would like to see more local control of the school rather than being an extension of IU and Purdue. The move goes up for discussion next month.
