We now know what will happen to the current OMHS campus in Owensboro when the new hospital opens next summer.

On Wednesday, leaders announced the facility on Parrish Avenue, currently used as the hospital's main campus, with go through some major changes.

Beginning in February, construction and renovation will begin.  As a result, nearly the entire west side of the campus will be torn down and turned into green space.  The remaining half of the campus will be used for cancer treatment, primary care services and medical education.  It will house programs like the University of Louisville nursing program.  Officials say there were several options on the table but this one made the most sense.

Leaders say no one will lose their jobs as a result of the new hospital or because of the changes at the current location.
