Police Executing Search Warrant at Evansville Home

Updated: October 5, 2012

We are following breakin news in Evansville. The Police Department, S.W.A.T., and the Narcotics Unit are on the scene of 700 block of Bayard Park. This is a picture from the scene. We're told they are executing a search warrant at a home related to the arrest of a gang member connected to vandalism of the department's West Sector office.

Earlier this week, police arrested 24-year-old James Williams during a traffic stop. Detectives with the Gang Task Force say he had recently moved to Evansville from Las Vegas, where he was affiliated with gangs there. The graffiti on the buildings reportedly matches those gangs Williams is said to have been a part of. Detectives say, at this time, there is not enough evidence to connect him to all of the vandalism cases.
