The parent of a Bosse High School student is being called a hero by some after he took down a teen accused of threatening members of the Bosse High School marching band Wednesday night.

Police say a 16-year-old student threatened other students with a BB gun that looked like a handgun. Edward Stocker was waiting for his daughter to get out of band practice when the incident happened. He chased, tackled, and pinned the suspect until police arrived.

"My initial though was a kid with a gun at my daughter's school -- I can't have it," says Stocker. "I didn't know if it was a real gun, fake gun -- it didn't even come into my head. All i knew is it was a kid with a gun and it's just not a good thing."

The suspect faces four felony charges including intimidation with a weapon. Police are not revealing the suspect's name because he is a minor, but officers say the incident involved an ex-girlfriend.

Comments

There should be no such thing as a 'gun free zone' especially in schools. Someone there should have been armed and taken this kid out. What if it had been a real gun? The police, had they been there would have been completely within the law to do so.
