Next year, drivers heading east towards Newburgh on the Lloyd Expressway will approach a new St. Mary's Out Patient Center. St. Mary's Health held a groundbreaking ceremony today for it's new construction project, Epworth Crossing. It's located on the Warrick Wellness Trail adjacent to the current Convenient Care East location near Epworth Rd. and the Lloyd.

St. Mary's officials say Epworth Crossing will be a state-of-the-art outpatient center that will include a new and expanded breast center, women's wellness center, offering yoga and massage therapy, and a new Convenient Care East, which will double in size. The 44,000 square foot facility will also have a community space for healthy cooking classes. Construction should be complete by November 2013.

"It's really not a competitive issue," said Gwen Sandefu of St. Mary's. "St. Mary's has been here for over 20 years. We began when we were surrounded by corn fields. Obviously it is a great location in order for patients to be able to access with the Lloyd Expressway and I-164."

U.S. Congressman Larry Bucshon, State Senator Vaneta Becker, and State Representative Suzanne Crouch spoke at the groundbreaking.
