With the election two days away, the debate over consolidated government in Vanderburgh County is coming to a head.  Proponents from both sides are making their final push for voters around the city and county.
Its the first thing you'll see on the ballot in Vanderburgh County when you hit the polls on Tuesday.  The referendum for reorganization is a major hotbutton issue in the city and county.  Sunday, Mayor Lloyd Winnecke and Sheriff Eric Williams reiterated their support, but some around the city say they need to see more before they'll vote yes.
Its almost everywhere you go. On the road and on the air. The debate over the reorganization of Vanderburgh County government is crossing party lines.
But people like Roger Madden, an Evansville native, says he's not so sure. But Mayor Winnecke, a major supporter since he began campaigning for office, disagrees.
Madden says he's read most of the plan. "What scares me the most is the loss of representation," he says.  "When you've got the mayor appointing all of these people it's not your vote or mine, but its whoever he's got in his pocket."
But Mayor Winnecke says that's not the case.  He hopes voters will choose what he calls a streamlined system, and he hopes more efficiency and a brighter future for Evansville and all of Vanderburgh County.
If you'd like to learn more about the plan, you can find a link to the website for reorganization by clicking here -- and the site against the referendum by clicking here. We'll have all the news from all the races until the final numbers come in Tuesday night.
