First Day Back to School After Storm

By: Sarah Lovett
Updated: February 12, 2009
Its been seventeen days since Hopkins County students last went to class. Now, schools back in session, but a day later than originally planned. The school board voted to postpone the pre-planned return to school when they listened to Wednesdays forecast. Officials say the last thing they wanted was for a windstorm to knock out power while kids were in class or for someone to get hurt waiting for a bus. Board members say parents and teachers have been prepared to be especially understanding and caring for the next few days as many children still dont have power in their homes.
