Gallup Poll: Romney Still Leading But Obama Gaining Ground

By: Michael C. Fehn
Updated: November 5, 2012
There are polls, and then there is Gallup.  Widely regarded as one of the biggest, ongoing samplings in the industry, Gallup is set to release it's final numbers on the presidential race Monday afternoon.

And according to early numbers, released to Bloomberg Businessweek ahead of the official release, the race is still a dead heat.  However, there is some news to be found inside the numbers.  The latest poll shows Mitt Romney leading President Obama, 49%-48%.  But the not so good news for Romney is that on October 29th, Gallup had him leading 51%-46%.

This is the first tracking poll since Hurricane Sandy struck the northeast.  The complete poll will be released later on Monday.
