Hostess is officially going out of business.  This comes after a union employee strike at the Hostess plant.  This is having a big impact on the Hostess Outlet on Covert and Weinbach in Evansville.  The manager says 12 people will lose their job.

It's the last round up for Twinkie The Kid.  No more Twinkies, Moon Pies, and Wonder Bread.

"I was devastated. As you can see, I like Hostess cakes," Robert Culley said.

The news of Hostess brands closing is not setting well with Tri-Staters.

"I grew up with Hostess. As far back as I can remember, use to take them in my lunch as a kid," James Carr said.

The Hostess Outlet in Evansville has been a busy place on this Friday.  A constant flow of people stopping in to stock up.  By 12:30, the Twinkies and Ho Ho's were gone.  As Hostess lovers grab their favorite treat, it's a sad day for the workers who have spent years with the company.  They say Hostess was the American way, like hamburgers and hot dogs.  A household name, an end of an era.

"Everybody, baby boomer on up, grew up with Twinkies, Suzy Q's, Ho Ho's, Ding Dongs. They're going to be gone, and nobody is going to grow up with them anymore. They'll never know what us old people are talking about," Culley said.

Some say they will freeze their Twinkies to keep them around long after the stores close.

The manager says all Hostess stores will close Monday.  The one on Covert and Weinbach will close Monday at 4:00 P.M.  Everything is half off starting Saturday.
