Students at Resurrection School in Evansville declare a war on hunger. Students collected canned and boxed goods for the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry. This afternoon the student council loaded the goods collected and took it to the food pantry. The pantry's director says this will be a big help.
"It's been sporatic," said Food Pantry Manager Sister Donna Hurr. "We've had some other groups that have brought food to us, and that's been wonderful too. But our shelves are not real full right now. And I haven't bought up a lot of extra things because I was looking forward to the food drives coming in here at Thanksviging time."
Students took part in a competition to see who could collect the most food, but they say they knew the end goal was to help those in the community who are less fortunate.
