Warnings Made Before Train-Float Crash

MIDLAND, Texas (AP) -- The warning signals at a railroad crossing in Midland, Texas, were activated seven seconds before a parade float crossed the tracks in an accident that killed four military veterans. Federal investigators reconstructed Thursday's crash using video cameras from the train and a sheriff's vehicle. They say the crew started sounding the horn nine seconds before the train hit the float. The engineer also used the emergency brake five seconds before the crash.
