Drivers in Indiana are cruising up and down Interstate 69, now changes are coming for those using the interstate in Kentucky. A ten million dollar project is in the works that will completely change the look and flow of a Kentucky interchange that leads to I-69. Governor Steve Beshear makes the announcement in Hopkins County, where part of that ten million will be used to turn the cloverleaf interchange at KY 109 in Dawson Springs to a diamond-shaped one. This former section of the Western Kentucky Parkway that runs through the Governor's hometown became I-69 in October of last year. Beshear says this change means growth and jobs for our area. Long term, the goal is for I-69 to run from the Ohio River at Henderson to the Tennessee border at Fulton. Connecting the Hoosier and bluegrass states together is also on the agenda. Construction of the new diamond shape exits are expected to be done by December of next year, and is being completed by a Muhlenberg County contractor
