Redevelopment Commission Member Proposes Idea For Hotel Site

By: Michael C. Fehn
Updated: January 2, 2013
There is still no decision about a new downtown hotel in Evansville.

The Redevelopment Commission met Wednesday morning.  The issue was not on the agenda, but one board member suggested putting rock on the site next to the Ford Center where the hotel is supposed to be built.  He says that way the land could be used as a parking lot until developers are ready to build the hotel.  The idea gained little support.

A spokesperson for the mayor's office says a vote on the hotel proposal will go in front of the Redevelopment Commission before the end of the January.

This will never fly, because it makes sense. Goverment will never go for that.
