A female driver is in serious condition after a semi tractor trailer hit her on the driver's side. Evansville Police say it happened around 1:15 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 41 and Riverside Dr. The woman had to be extricated from her vehicle and was taken to St. Mary's Medical Center. The driver of the semi was also taken to Deaconess Hospital to be tested for alcohol. A third vehicle was involved, but the driver was not injured.
The southbound lanes of Highway 41 are shut down between Riverside Dr. and Interstate 164 with a detour set up. Reconstructionists are on scene and say it could take a few hours to clean up the scene. We'll bring you more updates as soon as they are released.
