Businesses Affected by Executive Inn

Downtown Owensboro businesses are disappointed they will have to say farewell to what some call the crown jewel of Owensboro. city government plans to demolish the Executive Inn, ending all hopes the hotel would re-open. the city bought the 17-acre property for five million dollars in order to tear it down.
For thirty years, the hotel brought events and performers, tourists and their money to downtown Owensboro, but the city feels taking it down will revitalize downtown more than leaving it up.
The city commission is expected to make the sale official Tuesday at noon at city hall when a formal vote is taken. Theyll also be making some budget amendments to help with the downtown masterplan.
