Pit Bull Attacks 10 Year Old Boy

By: Brett Allega
Updated: January 9, 2013
A Henderson County boy has been taken to Kosairs Children's Hospital in Louisville. He sustained serious facial injuries after being bitten by a pit bull.
Henderson County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to Methodist ER for a dog bite. Deputies were told by the attending physician that the boy's nose had been bitten off at a home off Highway 136 West. The pit bull had apparently eaten the nose after biting the child.
Deputies and Animal Control Officers then took control of the dog after they could not locate the nose at the residence. The nose was retrieved from the dog's stomach via surgery. It was then transported with the boy to Kosairs for further treatment.
The dog's owner said he has had the dog since it was a puppy and it has never shown any signs of aggression.
We will keep you updated with the latest.

i dont see why they feel they have to talk to the neighbor because he ownes a pit its more like there concerned about the dog and not the child this child will be forever scared and probally scared of dogs and why is there not charges against the pet owners i feel they should have had dog put up for the mother stayed that the dog had been riled up with the kids playing to heck with the neighbors think just because they own a pit its ablout the litlle boy not the dog weather it be a pit or a poodle if it does it once theyll do it again and this poor child will have to live wiht this the rest of his life

marsha d Most attacks on kids happen when the parent is in the room. All Pits are dangerous and there is nothing you can do to stop an attack once it starts. Please if you care about your kids put your pit down and get a dog that was not genetically designed to kill. Please put that monster down today.

No child should ever be left alone with any animal, dog, cat or otherwise.
