Madisonville Man Arrested for Early Morning Stabbing

A Madisonville man is in jail after allegedly stabbing another man with a pair of scissors.

Madisonville Police arrested Johnathan Nutt, 41, and charged him with 1st degree assault.  Police say it started around 2:45 AM Saturday after he got into a verbal argument with Barry Barnes, 44, at a Caroline Street apartment.  Nutt then allegedly stabbed him multiple times with a pair of scissors.  Barnes was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.  Nutt is being held in the Hopkins County Jail.
