Parents & Students React to Castle High School Threat

WARRICK COUNTY - School officials are calling the threats made on Facebook, "Vivid and very violent," and parents and students are concerned about the threatening posts.

Those posts forced Castle High School to go on lock down for close to an hour, Wednesday.

We're told he was not in school Wednesday and later was questioned by police.

We can also tell you he will not face charges.

For Jerry Ford, the threat and the lock-down hits too soon and too close to home. He says, "There's a lot of people saying a lot of bad things on Facebook and it's not something to be joking around about."

Ford got a call this morning from inside of the school during the lock-down. That call, from his frightened sister. "I went to get my sister and they wouldn't let me do it without parent consent and I called my dad and he told them to let her go home with me. I didn't feel she'd be safe there and she called me crying scared so I went and got here."

Superintendent Brad Schneider says he and other school officials take every threat seriously but this one was, "Vivid. Very violent post threatening students at Castle High School."

One parent picking up her son from school didn't want to be identified. She was aware the school was placed on lock-down but says she had no idea what the post actually said until i showed her a copy. She responded, "This threat is unbelievable. I can't believe anyone would post something like this."

I spoke to a student who knows the student who posted this message. He told me he was shocked but not at all surprised.
