Environmental crews are preparing to test soil at an old scrap yard for hazardous waste in Terre Haute. The Environmental Protection Agency is concerned about the site near the Wabash River. Officials say there were several 55 gallon drums full of some kind of unknown substance found on the property. The land was reportedly turned over to the city last month. The feds will test for a string of chemicals starting next week.
