Some changes could be on the way the next time Kentucky voters elect a
governor. A bill passes the Kentucky Senate to move the election for
governor and several other statewide offices to every four years
beginning in 2016. That would have the races for Kentucky governor fall
the same years as the presidential elections. Currently Kentuckians
elect a governor in the year before a presidential election. The bill
still needs to pass the House and be put to a voter referendum before it
could become law.
