Good economic news for Owensboro, where hundreds of jobs are on the way. U.S Bank is expanding its western Kentucky operations. That means 330 jobs will be available in Owensboro. That expansion will take place over the next 24 to 36 months. This is the third time since 2009 that U.S. Bank has added to its Owensboro workforce. Supporters say each time the company expands, the entire community wins.

"There is a ripple effect," said Owensboro Mayor Ron Payne, "when you create these jobs. These people live here. They shop here. They spend that money here. So, it turns over several times. And the more economic activity we have, the better off we're going to be."

The expansion also means U.S. Bank will make another $15 million investment in Owensboro. State and local governments kicked in $2.8 million worth of incentives to help seal the deal.
