Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear pledges to get legislation passed this year to fix the state's pension system for government retirees. He is even considering calling a special session if lawmakers don't get it done. A proposal on the table from the Senate would create a hybrid retirement plan for new employees, but the House doesn't like the idea. The House wants to generate money from the state lottery and horse racing tracks, but the Senate doesn't like that proposal. There's only about a week left in this legislative session.
