Kentucky Meth-Check Program

Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear is taking the fight against methamphetamine one step further.
Hes asking Southern Indiana to participate in Kentuckys meth-check program.
Its software that monitors how much pseudoephedrine-containing medicine a customer purchases.
Right now, pharmacies can enter a customers data and if someone is buying a suspicious amount, a red flag pops up.
The computer system can cross check with other counties, and now Governor Beshear wants to be able cross-check across state lines.
Local pharmacists are all for it.
According to the Drug Enforcement Administration, Indiana had the second highest number of meth busts last year.
Illinois was fourth and Kentucky was number six.
