Ready for More at Owensboro's Airport

Things could soon be "taking off" for the Owensboro-Daviess County Regional Airport, but officials are being cautiously optimistic.
Bids for another commercial airline service out of the airport were due to the FAA Friday night.
After success with the airports lone airline, officials say theyre prepared for more flights.
Allegiant Air began non-stop service to Orlando in February.
Airport Manager Bob Whitmer says several small airlines have expressed interest, but no bids have been confirmed. He says investors are hard to find with the economy the way it is.
If an airline is chosen to fly through Owensboro, it will likely be one that only takes passengers to and from a major hub like Cincinnati or Louisville.
