Friday is National Doughnut Day.
In observance, two of the biggest chains in America -- Krispy Kreme and Dunkin' Donuts -- will be giving away a free doughnut to customers.
National Doughnut Day is celebrated the first Friday of every June and was created by the Salvation Army in 1938 to honor the women who served doughnuts to soldiers during World War One.
