Kentucky governor Steve Beshear has brought his town hall tour to Henderson tonight. Tonight is the eleventh of thirteen meetings hell hold statewide.. Governor Beshear says the town hall tour is part of his promise to the people of Kentucky when he was elected. He says too often politicians do all the talking. But he wants to make sure the citizens he represents get a word in too. Governor Steve Beshear is warmly welcomed outside south middle school in Henderson... His seven week tour across the state is almost at an end. I think theres gonna be some common topics. Health care, education and gambling are some reoccurring issues Beshear has heard plenty about. I would like to ask you about the proposals i keep reading about casinos. Dane Gray says Kentucky is too good for gambling- and it teaches the children immoral lessons. Grays supports the Kentucky governor-- but he wasnt satisfied with Beshears response. No i think he sidestepped my response- i think he told the truth we need more money. According to Beshear Kentucky is working with billions of dollars less than it used to.. and there needs to be a fix. He and agree that clean, green coal is one answer. Beshear says Kentucky has the resources to become energy independent. And he says its up to himself and the people to get things done. I think if the people of this state speak loudly enough about revenue, i think the legislature will hear them. Beshear says everything he hears at the town hall meetings will be taken into consideration-- and will likely help form the agenda for the general assembly in January.
