Mt. Carmel # 3 in FOX 7 Top 7 Rankings

By: Rick Peltier
Updated: August 10, 2007
Mount Carmel is the number-three team in our annual FOX 7 Top 7 high school football preseason rankings. The Aces are coming off a very successful season in 2006. Mount Carmel clinched a share of its first-ever Big Eight title, finished 10-2 overall and made it to the quarter-finals of the Illinois Class 4A playoffs. The Aces return 17 starters from that squad, including senior quarterback Kyle Buss, senior explosive running back Jensen Dardeen and their entire offensive line. The Mount Carmel seniors have been waiting for this year since the sixth grade. But, all of the talent in the world wont win you games or championships unless you stay focused and humble. Thats exactly what head coach Darren Peach is stressing to his kids. Mount Carmel kicks off the season on Friday, August 24th against Harrisburg at the Snake Pit.
