Groups from opposite ends of the political spectrum came together Wednesday night to discuss education. Organizers touted the event at Central Library as the first of its kind ever. The groups, Southern Indiana Democracy for America a self-described liberal group of regional progressives and members of the local tea party gathered to talk about school vouchers in Indiana. The town hall type meeting was the first of several meetings planned for the groups. Members from both sides say this type of discussion is healthy for Democracy. The two sides debated the significance of vouchers, the democracy for America group's speaker is a long time school teacher and advocate for public education.
