Apple Dumplings
2 Granny Smith Apples, peeled and cored
1 can crescent roll dough
½ cup butter
¼ cup white sugar
¼ cup brown sugar
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ can Mt Dew (ginger ale or sprite also work)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease an 8 inch baking dish.
Cut apples into 8 wedges. Separate crescent dough into triangles and wrap dough around apple slice. Make sure apple is completely covered and place in baking dish. Repeat with remaining slices and dough.
Melt butter. Add cinnamon and sugar – stir until sugar dissolves. Add Mt Dew, and then pour over dumplings.
Bake 30 minutes or until apples are golden, occasionally spooning sauce over apples.
