Otters finish worst season in franchise history

The 2007 Evansville Otters looked nothing like the team that won last years Frontier League Championship. Despite returning several key players from that title team, the Otters finished with their worst record in the franchises 13-year history, 34-62. Its also the worst finish for a defending Frontier League Champion.
The Otters snapped a ten-game losing streak with a 5-3 victory over Southern Illinois on Saturday night at Bosse Field. Evansville then concluded the season on Sunday afternoon by beating the Miners 6-5. A positive way to end the season, but there are still a lot of questions to be answered in the off-season.
In a FOX 7 Sports Exclusive, Otters owner Bill Bussing told Rick Peltier that the entire organization was embarrassed by the teams performance on the field. Bussing says most of the blame falls on the shoulders of first-year manager Jeff Pohl. Bussing plans to meet with Pohl this week to discuss his future in Evansville. Bussing says the two sides have to figure out what needs to be done to fix the problems and if Pohl is indeed the right man for the job.
