breaking news
Tyson Schnitker is finally going to play basketball for USI, just not until next season. The former Indiana State Sycamore guard had planned to transfer from the Division I Missouri Valley Conference school to the D II Eagles last year.
But, Schnitker chose to concentrate on his undergraduate studies at Indiana State instead, when he had a problem transferring some credit hours.
That year away from the court didn`t lesson his interest in USI. Schnitker stayed in contact with Eagles` head coach Rick Herdes and told Herdes on Thursday night that he was ready to come to the West side and help USI compete for a National Championship in the 2007-08 season.
Schnitker will graduate from Indiana State in May with a degree in Business Education. He`ll get his masters at USI while playing for the Eagles next season.
Schnitker, a 6-1, 180 pound guard will have one year of eligibility. He`ll join current juniors Kenny Page and Kenny Love in the USI backcourt.
