Governor Steve Beshear spent Wednesday afternoon assessing the damage that still lies along roads in Owensboro.
The Kentucky Governor met with local officials and toured areas hit by Hurricane Ikes remnants.
He declared the entire commonwealth of Kentucky in a state of emergency after the weekend storm.
Beshear told residents and officials he will ask President Bush to declare this a disaster area for the counties involved.
He believes they can get federal disaster relief, which he says would come in the form of a 75% reimbursement.
