Ron was born and raised within nose shot of Moonlite Barbecue in Owensboro, Kentucky. After a benevolent reign as homecoming king and graduating from Owensboro Catholic High School in 1983, Ron hustled down to Western Kentucky University and majored in broadcasting & English, later earning his meteorology certification from Mississippi State University.
Ron has now spent half of his life forecasting the weather on television.
He started on cable and at home in Owensboro, before moving north to West Lafayette, Indiana, within frostbite distance of Purdue University.
After spending a couple of years thawing out in Paducah, Kentucky, Ron returned home to the tri-state and has been working at WTVW for the past 16 years.
He's married to Marcia Birge Rhodes and they have one son, Jordan.
