Kentucky educators are in uproar after a student loan forgiveness program is cut without warning.
The program was called "best in class" In 2005 the Kentucky higher education assistance authority offered loan forgiveness to those who signed up to teach under served areas like math science and special education.
But citing federal budget cuts, KHEAA recently terminated the program. Now, those taking advantage of the program feel theyve been taken advantage of. Almost five thousand teachers are affected. The teachers are organizing an advocacy group.
