The Daviess County Coroner says seventy-year-old James Turner was the man crushed by a wall of dirt Thursday afternoon. He was working in a hole in back of Macedonia Baptist Church trying to fix a drainage pipe. Turner and JP Rrusher were at the back of the church working on a drain pipe. Turner was in the eight foot hole, Rusher was beside the hole next to the backhoe. Without warning a wall of the hole collapsed onto Turner, crushing his chest cavity and lungs. As it got dark, emergency services changed their focus from rescuing Turner, to recovering his body. Rusher, the other man working behind the church has given police his official statement and is home. Members of Macedonia Baptist say theyll be supporting Turners family as they cope with this tragedy.
