Update on Attempted Abduction:

Thursday around 1 p.m., Evansville Police Patrol Officers stopped the red Chevy S-10 at 1650 S. Kentucky.  The driver of the vehicle matched the description given.  The driver admitted to speaking with the 15 year old female at Ravenswood and Norman.  He stated he often approaches women and talks with them.  The driver is a Registered Sex Offender.  The driver has been successfully identified.  With the information available to the Evansville Police Department at this time, investigators do not believe the driver committed a crime.

No information will be given out about the driver's identity or the facts of his prior conviction.

Evansville Police are investigating a possible child abduction.
On Wednesday around 9:30 a.m., a 15 year old female entered the Chuckle's Gas Station, located at 1601 S. Weinbach Ave.
At the same time, a newer model red Chevrolet S-10 pick-up truck pulled into the parking lot and purchased gas. After pumping gas the driver waited for the female to leave the store.
Police say the driver attempted to lure the female to his truck at Ravenswood and Norman.

The Evansville Police Department would like to identify the driver of the truck.

Description of Truck: Newer red Chevy S-10 pickup truck with black center hubs on the wheels. The truck appeared to be a basic model

Description of Driver: Older white male with silver hair. He had a silver front tooth.

This is a warning to everyone especially to those parents whose kids love hanging out to teach them about stranger danger. I am a parent and I'm worried and I don't want anyone to experience threatening cases like this especially my kids. As a way of helping everyone especially the parents, who still find it quite hard to manage issues like this, I found this great application which featured safety app which gets me connected to a Safety Network or escalate my call to the nearest 911 when needed, it has other cool features that are helpful for your kids with just a press of a Panic Button.
