"Father of Henderson" Receives Proper Memorial

Re-enactors marched through Spring Garden Cemetery, to the grave site of Samuel Hopkins. Five organizations gathered to celebrate his legacy. and the unveiling of a new granite marker for the namesake of Hopkins County, Kentucky.
Hopkins, a Major General in the war of 1812, was also one of the surveyors who laid out the city of Henderson.
The city and county began restoring the neglected cemetery back in 2009.
